12 The Symptoms of Abuse

    Many people spend their entire life thinking, "What is wrong with me?” Most never connect their current problems with abusive incidents during childhood, even though many carry scars of early childhood exploitation. Gnawing feelings of continual rejection, isolation, fear and anger are some universal symptoms.

    These are accompanied by a baffling state of confusion and a deep conviction that they never quite belong or fit in anywhere. The victims struggle desperately attempting to break free from the effects of the bad treatment. Unfortunately, the harder they strive the deeper they sink into the quagmire of bondage.

    Those struggling in abusive snares need help in recognizing these symptoms of denial. Deliverance workers also must be trained and instructed in discerning the fruit of abuse. Following this chapter are listed some different types of abuse and mistreatment and the symptoms it commonly produces.
